Culture

Everyone talks about it, but talking doesn’t create culture. It grows organically within individuals, teams, departments and companies. Like anything living, if you don’t maintain it – it will suffer and decline. I believe in creating opportunities for culture to grow organically. Here are some examples.

Buttons of Praise

Sometimes corporate recognition feels a little rigid. I created buttons of praise as a way for anyone to recognize their coworkers for any reason. In addition to getting a custom slide and shout out in the monthly all hands, the recipient (pre-COVID) also left the meeting with an actual button that they could wear or keep at their desk. The giving of buttons of praise has turned into a highlight each month.

“Corporate culture matters. How management chooses to treat its people impacts everything - for better or for worse.”

— Simon Sinek

It’s the little things

I love giving people opportunities to connect, improve their relationships, and feel more engaged at work.

Birthdays

They only come around once a year, and it doesn’t take much to make someone feel special. Applying photoshop skills to knowledge of someone’s loves and dreams is a powerful combination.
